Obeah is a term that encompasses a diverse set of religious and spiritual practices. It is primarily associated with the Caribbean, particularly Trinidad and Jamaica, but has its roots in the ancient African religions brought to the New World in the African slave trade, or African Diaspora.
For more information, make sure to read the History Of Obeah.
Obeah as a spiritual practice is very real — as real as the miracles manifested in prayer within mainstream Christianity. If the question is phrased as “Does Obeah Work” the answer is, without a doubt, yes. The fact that Obeah works is indisputable. It has been recorded by both believer and skeptic alike (see Psychic Phenomena of Jamaica in the Free Resources section, an anthropological account of Obeah in action). For those of us who believe in the spiritual forces behind Obeah we know it to be the work of our African ancestors and the spirits associated therein. From a scientific point of view the effects of Obeah may be explained as a placebo effect. Nonetheless, even the skeptic must admit that Obeah is powerful and does have a history of bringing results — even to the extent that it can cause a person to become ill and die.
Evil is, for the most part, a relative term. For the religious Christian in Western culture it is commonly believed that any form of spiritual practice is inherently evil. However, the Bible does distinguish between good and evil forms of spiritual practice (see Num 5:11-31 vs. Exodus 22:17). For those of us who practice Obeah we know that it has the power to do both good and evil. Obeah is like a hammer. Obeah can be used to construct something beautiful. A hammer can build a house, a church and any number of helpful items. Conversely, a hammer is also used to tear down these same buildings and can even be used as a weapon. Therefore, Obeah has the power to do both good and evil. It must be used carefully and responsibly. And, more importantly than anything, only in the hands of the trained Obi-man or Obi-woman.
Obeah is a syncretic mystical practice and the metaphysical actions behind Obeah function on different levels. Obeah works primarily by the power of traditional African spirits. These are the spiritual practices indigenous to West Africa that were spread throughout the African diaspora. Obeah also works on an energetic or quantum level. As we learn more and more about quantum physics we have come to embrace the fact that, ultimately, everything is interconnected. It is this interconnectedness of energy that allows a ritual performed in Kingston, Jamaica to influence a person living in London, Paris or Rome. The final aspect is mental. Obeah works directly upon our consciousness and mental faculties. This is why it is so effective in repairing relationships and healing issues of the mind. Obeah therefore is threefold, much like the Holy Trinity — it works in spirit, mind and body.
Obeah is a unique magic and spiritual practice. There have been many attempts to undo the effects of an Obeah curse or an Obeah spell by external means — the vast majority fail. The only sure way to break any spiritual forces created by Obeah is by using Obeah. As the Holy Bible tells us (Luke 5:36-39), “No man puts a new garment upon an old...No man puts new wine into old bottles.” It is true that some Obeah spells can be broken by similar spiritual traditions, such as those found in Vodou. The practitioners of Vodou hail the same African traditions and spirits that the modern Obeah men and women do — with some limitations. But the best way to break an Obeah spell is with another Obeah spell.
Yes. Love spells have been an integral part of Obeah since before recorded written history. They exist in the current African traditions as well as in the diaspora throughout the Caribbean.
Obeah love spells are extremely effective and a part of the Obeah historical tradition.
Yes. Curses, as well, are a part of Obeah. Obeah is not Wicca — there is no Law of Three in Obeah or African religion. It should also be noted that, in Obeah, curses can (and are) cast successfully without any repercussions. While the believer om new Western religions may have committed himself to specific oaths or laws these do not exist in the older African religious practices. There are many curses in Obeah, they work and they can be cast safely without any risk to you or to the Obi-man.
Maybe. Not all Obeah spells are alike. There are Obeah spells that demand full control and compliance in a person. With a spell of this quality the whole idea is to bring a person's will under your control. Conversely, many Obeah spells can act without touching or manipulating free will in any way. If you are concerned about this you should consult with Papa Ebenezer regarding the specific work that you are considering.
Recall that the primary mechanism of action behind the power of Obeah is the will and force of the divine African spirits. These are the same spirits that are worshiped by many different names throughout the world — in Vodou in West Africa and Haiti, Santeria in Cuba, Candomble in Brazil, as well as ancient Egypt, Rome, Greece and modern Western Europe. A spell can be cast using the power of just one spirit, of three spirits or of seven. Many spirits have powers that overlap — it is not uncommon to have up to twenty or thirty spirits that have dominion over a specific area, such as divorce or family feuds. The more spirits called upon the more powerful a spell will be.
Yes. The spirits of Vodou, Santeria and other West African religions must obey the trained Obeah man or Obeah woman. This goes back to the fact that all religions are related to the African traditions and diaspora. We are all working with the same spirits, but by different names. Obeah can be used to place, break or control any type of spell cast by a Santero of Santeria or a Houngan of Vodou. The same is true of the myriad African religious practices around the world. Obeah is a key and source of power that can control, place and break spells from the vast majority of mystical traditions.
Obeah has been referred to as Science, or the High Science, long before I was born. There are many reasons for this etymological tradition. One is because Obeah men and women were able to produce cures for diseases and ailments long before Western medicine. When the Western medicine of the 16th and 17th century involved placing leeches and bleeding patients to rid them of “bad humors” the traditional medicine of Africa was able to bring cures to ailments that few even knew the cause of. The practice of Obeah is also highly controlled. Most Obeah men and women study the practice for ten or twenty years before setting off on their own — much longer than most medical doctors or scientists today. Today we are seeing new advances in quantum physics help to explain and validate the practices once dismissed as “supernatural” or “superstition.” Obeah is, without a doubt, a science in its own right.
Papa Ebenezer does offer initiations and classes to those who are truly committed and desire to learn Obeah. You should read more in the Learn Obeah, Obeah Initiation and Obeah Courses sections to decide if this path is right for you. However, it is not up to Papa Ebenezer or any other man to decide who can become initiated into Obeah. It is up to the spirits of Obeah — they decide who is fit for this path and who is not. There is no discrimination in Obeah. Any man or woman may learn it regardless of nationality, ethnicity, race, religion or any other distinguishing factor or personal identity. The only criteria is that the spirits have accepted. If the spirits have accepted then you have an absolute right to learn Obeah and begin this spiritual path on your own.
You may place an order for the spell, spells or services that you wish directly on the Obeah Rituals website. You should also include any relevant information — but not financial information — in an email to Papa Ebenezer. Relevant information may include information about your case, names or photographs as appropriate for your rituals. You should not email any credit card, bank account or other financial info. This will be processed by Google Checkout. You should contact Papa Ebenezer if you have any questions about what information is required.

Yes — absolutely and without question. At Obeah Rituals we store no personal information about you or your case. Secrecy is extremely important in Obeah and we will never disclose information about any clients to third parties. We do not harvest, store or sell any information to third parties. We delete personal information such as photographs after a ritual has been done. You can read more about this on our Policy Page.
Yes — depending on the situation. Every request for a refund is granted on a case-by-case basis. Please see the Policy section for more information. You may also be eligible for a complete recast of the spell or even additional free services. The most important thing to us at Obeah Rituals is that the client is satisfied and gets the results that they are searching for.
Obeah is advanced and complicated process. Out of all African traditions it may be the most secretive — and the most powerful. Before any rituals can be done it is important that you give an open an honest account of your situation to Papa Ebeneezer. This will allow him to decide if Obeah is right for you. If a spell cannot help you then there is no reason in doing it. Papa Ebeneezer evaluates every situation on a case-by-case basis to determine if Obeah is appropriate for you. Do not be shy or afraid to ask — but at the same time please do not be offended if you cannot be accepted as a client. This is not personal, but the will of the Spirits.
At Obeah Rituals you may be entitled to refund, a redo of your ritual or additional work. This is determined on a case by case basis as per the Obeah Rituals policy. You will never be left abandoned or hanging with any ritual work — this is contrary to the ethics of Obeah. However, it is required that all clients accept and abide by the policy of Obeah Rituals. Papa Ebeneezer does reserve the right to refuse service and the most important thing is mutual respect. Papa Ebeneezer will always respect you to the fullest — so please show the same consideration to him for the hard work that he does on your behalf.
In life no one can truly guarantee any work or event. A mechanic cannot guarantee that your car will never break down after repairing it. A doctor cannot guarantee you will be healthy after an organ transplant. If you buy a goldfish no one can promise you with one hundred percent certainty that it is going to stay alive. This is the nature of life and it applies to everything. If Papa Ebeneezer does 10,000 Obeah rituals and only 9,999 actually work then any promise of a full guarantee is broken. Nonetheless, if a ritual does not come to fruition for you then Papa Ebeneezer will stand behind his work. He will give you a refund, redo your work or come to a satisfactory agreement so that both parties are satisfied. Papa Ebeneezer does not leave his clients unhappy or without results.
Papa Ebeneezer helps people all over the world, both in person and at a distance. As a result he may be booked full and not have any appointments available. It is important to reserve any Obeah rituals ahead of time to ensure that they are completed when you need them. Likewise, if you do not receive a response immediately please be patient. A busy schedule of spiritual consultation and performing spiritual works often does not leave time to write back immediately. Papa Ebeneezer spends most of his time in study and working on his ability with Obeah rather than in front of the computer. On average, you may expect a response within 24 to 36 hours. If there is a delay — please be patient. You are not being ignored. Papa Ebeneezer never ignores any man or woman and will write back to you as soon as it is possible.
To use a previous analogy, if you take a broken automobile to a mechanic and ask; “How long will it take to fix this” you will receive a question in response — “What's wrong with it?” A minor issue such as a flat tire may be fixed in just hours. Major body or transmission work may take weeks. The same is true for any spell. Your Obeah ritual will work, but you must be patient. It could take one day, five days, three weeks or in some cases even longer. Papa Ebeneezer will be able to give you a more specific estimate of the time frame you can expect when looking into your case and the required Obeah rituals.
